Yoga Class Stretching
“Mindful Through Movement” (MTM) is an integration of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Yoga, that offers a holistic approach to mental health treatment. This combination addresses both physical and psychological symptoms, particularly effective for treating anxiety, grief and depression. MTM, a personalized treatment model, includes breathing techniques, physical postures, meditation, and cognitive restructuring to reduce stress, increase emotional regulation, and stabilize the nervous system.

MINDFULNESS CBT + YOGA = HEALING

MTM's GOAL

“HEALING, ONE THOUGHT & MOVEMENT AT A TIME.”

"Mindfulness CBT" blends mindfulness meditation with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help people break free from negative thought patterns, especially for depression, anxiety, and chronic stress. It teaches you to observe thoughts non-judgmentally in the present moment (mindfulness) rather than getting lost in them, recognizing them as just mental events (CBT).

MTM teaches you to be aware of your mind's patterns and develop a new, less reactive way of relating to them, empowering you to break cycles of negative thinking.

How Does It Work?

Techniques include body scans, mindful breathing, and recognizing the links between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to shift from automatic reactions to calmer, more intentional responses, preventing relapse into low moods.

•Mindfulness Training: Practices like meditation, body scans, and mindful movement train you to pay attention to the present moment without judgment, focusing on sensations, breath, and arising thoughts.

•Cognitive Therapy Principles: Integrates CBT's understanding that thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are linked, helping you identify unhelpful patterns that fuel low mood or anxiety.

•Developing a New Relationship: Instead of fighting negative thoughts, you learn to see them as temporary mental events, reducing their power and preventing them from spiraling into deeper depression.

•The "Observer": Cultivates a wise, non-judgmental "observer" self to step back from automatic negative thinking and respond with curiosity rather than reaction.
